Boombl4 after the victory over Team Falcons: “I’m really happy right now that I can make it back to the Major playoffs.”

BetBoom Team’s CS2 captain Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov shared his thoughts in an interview at IEM Cologne Major 2026 following the victory over Team Falcons in the third stage of the tournament, discussed the importance of clutch plays in Tier 1 tournaments, and spoke about the team’s prospects of making the event’s playoffs.
On his feelings after the victory over Team Falcons
On Nuke, something went wrong on the attack: we lost the anti-force in the second round, which prevented us from fully executing our game plan. However, after switching sides, even despite losing the pistol round, we managed to take the weapon round, after which everything fell into place. Our communication improved instantly, which is why we were able to win.
On clutch plays at Tier 1 events
Regarding close situations on Ancient, I can say that games at Tier 1 championships always involve a lot of clutch plays. The strongest teams in the world simply win in important and critical rounds—this happens regularly, and it’s absolutely normal.
On the team’s journey in the tournament
Of course, I can feel that we’re getting better and better with every game. It’s extremely unexpected for us to be in the third stage with a 2-0 series lead, but we’re really trying to give it our all—that’s all.
On the prospect of making the playoffs
I’m really happy right now that I can make it to the Major playoffs again. We’ve won two best-of-3 series and are now up 2-0. We still have three chances to reach this goal, and I think we have to take advantage of at least one of them.
Yesterday, BetBoom Team defeated Team Falcons in a second-round match of the third stage of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 with a score of 2-0 in a best-of-3 series. Today, Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov’s team will face FURIA for a spot in the tournament’s playoffs.
