Bymas accused Monte of failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in salary and prize money

Former Monte Counter-Strike 2 player Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras accused the organization of failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in wages, tournament prize money, and revenue from team stickers from the Major. The esports player made this claim on his personal X account.

According to Bymas, Monte owes him “tens of thousands of dollars,” as well as his share of revenue from the team’s Major stickers. The player claims that he has not received any tournament prize money since 2025 and is also awaiting several monthly payments and performance bonuses. According to him, he has faced payment delays throughout his entire time playing for the organization.

Pipiras noted that he had not made the situation public for a long time because he respected Monte and gave the club an opportunity to resolve the issue privately. However, according to the player, repeated appeals did not lead to a resolution of the situation. It was precisely these financial problems, as Bymas stated, that were one of the main reasons for his decision not to renew his contract. The esports player also stated that, to the best of his knowledge, several former Monte players and the team’s coach are also awaiting significant payments. 

In response to the post, Monte sarcastically claimed that Bymas’s statement had allegedly been coordinated with the player’s agent. Representatives of the organization also mocked the claim of a two-week salary delay, calling such a timeframe “incredibly critical and painful.” After that, a message appeared in the club’s Telegram chat directly accusing Bymas: “He’s a *** [cheater].”

Bymas’s former teammates also supported his statements. Aurélien “afro” Drapier wrote that he understood the reasons behind the players’ move to Luminosity Gaming and expressed regret that the situation had escalated into a public conflict. Oscar “AZUWU” Bell reported several payment delays and stated that he hadn’t even received a draft of a new contract, despite a verbal offer to extend his contract under the same terms. Alex “Rainwaker” Petrov confirmed Bymas’s statements and noted that he, too, had not yet received his prize money from the Monte tournament.

Earlier, Luminosity Gaming announced that Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras had been moved to the bench for the Counter-Strike 2 roster. Rifler joined the team in early July but failed to secure a single victory during his time with the team.
