I’m the team’s main analyst for the CS roster. I do, well… I do a lot of things, but let’s highlight the main points. The main thing is probably my work with Seryoga [hally. — Ed.]: I work on providing him with pre-match information, analytics, and preparation for the opponent we’ll be facing. Then there’s monitoring our meta—that involves statistics, of course, as well as data analysis and tracking player performance. When it comes to players, for example, we also get all kinds of tasks, like watching how someone plays, relaying that information, and possibly finding some custom grenades for the players. Preparation… well, for example, a new map just came out—preparing for that map: figuring out certain aspects, identifying key positions, mapping them out—that sort of work. Also, for example, when the academy is recruiting, we need to help the guys use certain statistics to identify, highlight, and single out players we’re interested in—and, again, that’s part of our routine. Well, that’s the general idea.

Look, I give Sergey pre-match information, and he provides certain criteria based on which I need to prepare that information. Then I pass it on to him. He, of course, watches all the demos as well, and based on that information, he works further with Dima [S0tF1k. — Ed.] and with Bora [magixx. — Ed.]. They discuss which cards will be played, how they’ll be played, and formulate a game plan. I guess that’s basically the extent of my role—that is, I pass the information on to Seryoga, and Seryoga, based on what he deems necessary, passes it on to the guys along with the plan

I don’t have any specific influence over the veto, unless—during the preparation of the plan and the team’s analysis—there are certain points that the guys haven’t noticed and that information is absolutely critical. But such instances are very rare, so the veto list is ultimately determined by our coaching staff plus Borya. If, for example, there are any doubts, then Seryoga might ask the players which maps they’d feel more comfortable playing on.
