dastan on HObbit: “I’m genuinely happy that he’s back on the Tier 1 scene—it inspires me.”

PARIVISION’s CS2 coach, Dastan “dastan” Akbaev, in an interview at the XSE Pro League 2026, discussed the major changes to the team following the roster moves, assessed the individual form of Abay “HObbit” Khasenov, and shared his thoughts on the team’s preparation for the event.
On changes to the team following the roster moves
First and foremost, we’ve gained HObbit’s experience. I really like how we play together with him—he understands everything. I’m genuinely glad he’s back on the Tier 1 scene—it inspires me. On top of that, our overall sense of what’s happening on the map during matches has improved.
On HObbit’s individual form
I talk to young players a lot, and they’re always asking me how to boost their rating. So I simply asked HObbit to raise his Elo to 4,000 on FACEIT, because that’s the minimum benchmark for a good esports player. He accomplished the task in two weeks, and I have no doubts about his individual skill level.
On the break during the event and preparation
The time we spent at this event actually helped us a lot; every new day brings significant improvement for the team. Today, for example, we’ll be playing Cache as our first map. I think everything will be fine, because we’ve been training and are ready for it. I truly believe that the break between the group stage and the playoffs made us much stronger; those few days were crucial.
Yesterday, PARIVISION defeated BIG in a quarterfinal match at the XSE Pro League 2026 with a score of 2-1 in a best-of-3 series and advanced to the event’s semifinals, where they’ll face FaZe Clan today.
