1w Team’s CS2 rifler, Pyotr “fame” Bolyshev, in an interview at ESL Pro League Season 24, analyzed his team’s mistakes in their match against G2 Esports, assessed the form of the Legacy roster with a stand-in, and shared the team’s goals for the tournament.
The problems began toward the end of Dust2, when we started carelessly giving away rounds. After the crushing defeat on Ancient, we thoroughly analyzed the end of the first map and the entire second map, since we made a huge number of mistakes—it was a terrible performance on our part. We tried to put those setbacks behind us right away and focus entirely on Mirage. The team had a clear understanding of what it would take to win, so we simply focused on our teamwork and took the match.
It’s hard to say what kind of form Legacy is in right now. Of course, it’s tough for them to play with a stand-in due to the absence of their captain, arT. Nevertheless, they remain a strong opponent with highly skilled individual players, so it definitely won’t be a walk in the park for us. Our team is fully focused on the upcoming match. We desperately need this win to earn crucial points in the Valve rankings, advance to the next stage, and ultimately qualify for the Major.
Given the competition for Major invites and VRS points, our minimum goal is to make it to the playoffs—that’s the only way we’ll keep our chances alive of qualifying for the season’s main championship. But my personal goal is to go as far as possible and win as many matches as I can. I really want to make it to the final stage to play on the big stage in front of incredible fans. Spodek Arena is a special place for every Counter-Strike player, and absolutely every esports athlete dreams of winning at this legendary arena.
