FURIA won its first match at the Thunderpick World Championship 2026

Defending champions FURIA defeated BetBoom Team 2-0 in their Group B opener at the 2026 Thunderpick World Championship.

On Ancient, BetBoom Team led 8-4 after the first half, but FURIA won the map 13-10. On Mirage, the Brazilian team closed out the series 13-9.

As a result, FURIA will face Legacy in the upper bracket final—the winner will advance to the playoffs. BetBoom Team will continue their run in the lower bracket: in the elimination match, the team will face PARIVISION.

Prior to the Thunderpick World Championship 2026, both teams competed in ESL Pro League Season 24: FURIA finished in 5th–8th place after losing to MOUZ in the playoffs, while BetBoom Team finished in 12th–14th place. BetBoom Team’s best result in recent months was reaching the semifinals of FISSURE PLAYGROUND 3 — CS.
