Gizmy on rain and device: “They don’t have egos; they understand everything perfectly and let me build my own system.”
100 Thieves captain Jack “Gizmy” von Sprekelsen reflected on his leadership style in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, discussed his adjustment to the new team, and assessed the team’s current form.
On his leadership style
My style is designed to capitalize on my teammates’ strengths. Of course, I direct the team’s actions during rounds, but at the same time, I give the players freedom—they can execute their own ideas or play aggressively.
On adapting to 100 Thieves
Although there are some strong personalities on the team, communication with everyone has been going very well so far. This is especially true of the experienced players—they don’t have big egos, they understand everything perfectly, and they let me build my own system. As for the coaching staff, gla1ve and zander are very easy to work with. They help us prepare for opponents and convey ideas to the players.
On the team’s form
I recently joined the team. We’ve been training for the past week and are now in top form. Of course, mistakes are inevitable at this stage. We understand that and continue to work hard. The most important thing for us is to shoot well and play with confidence, making sure everything goes according to plan.
100 Thieves defeated Team Falcons in the first round of BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 with a 2-1 map score (4-13 on Nuke, 13-7 on Dust2, and 13-11 on Anubis). It is not yet known who Gizmy’s team will face in their next match.
