“I’ve never seen a club act so petty”—the CS community condemned Monte following Bymas’ statements
The esports community has reacted to the public conflict between former Monte CS player Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras and the organization. Coaches, analysts, and commentators have criticized the Ukrainian club’s response to Bymas’ statements.
Former Ukrainian coach Ivan “Johnta” Shevtsov stated that the scandal is negatively affecting the reputation of Ukrainian esports:
It’s sad to see how, over the past year, three of our esports clubs have ruined not only their own reputations but also the image of Ukrainian esports. Now European players will perceive us as shady scammers who don’t pay salaries or prize money and even make dubious statements. That’s very bad.
Streamer dima_wallhacks criticized the way Monte responded to a former player’s post:
What a disgusting way to respond to a tweet from a former player who is STILL owed money from 2025. I’ve never seen a club act so petty. Even a two-week delay in paying salaries is absolutely insane—people need to pay their bills and support their families. Show at least a little respect.
Analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields also criticized the organization’s behavior on social media:
Monte consistently delivers one of the worst social media performances in all of esports.
To hell with this organization every day, and twice on Sundays.
By the way, if you’re a tournament operator, Monte has just made it clear that it’s no big deal if you delay their payment by two weeks.
Insider and analyst Guillaume “neL” Canelo stated that Monte has lost whatever remaining goodwill it had with the community:
Well, at least what little trust and goodwill Monte had left has now vanished. Such a foolish and desperate move.
Commentator Lukasz “Hermes” Poziczek urged players to approach Monte’s offers with caution:
No offense, but you’d have to be pretty desperate to accept an offer from Monte right now. At best—a 2x bet and payment up front. And as a bonus—the firing of the person in charge of social media.
Knowing CYPHER’s history, maybe he’s just on a mission to shut down Monte? After all, every organization he’s been associated with has simply died out after a while. A noble gesture—I respect that.
Former professional player Martin “STYKO” Stik pointed out that Bymas, despite the delayed payments, continued to play for the team:
Theoretically, Bymas had every right to simply not show up for practice or tournaments during those two weeks. But something tells me he showed up anyway.
Analyst Alexander “kassad” Trifunovich urged Monte to focus on paying former players instead of being active on social media:
Whoever runs this account must be the biggest idiot I’ve seen in a long time.
Maybe you should spend less time on Twitter and more time paying back the guys you cheated. Piece of shit, lying scum.
Earlier, Bymas accused Monte of failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in salaries and tournament prize money, as well as his share of revenue from the team’s Major stickers. The player’s former teammates, afro, AZUWU, and Rainwaker, have also reported payment delays from the organization.
