Phantom Esports coach David “lunAtic” Cheslak, in an interview on Stake Ranked Episode 3, gave a positive assessment of the team’s performance at the tournament and shared their future plans.
On the team’s performance at the tournament
We played very well for an underdog. I think we could have even beaten HEROIC yesterday. Overall, I’m very proud of my guys, who showed some great Counter-Strike, even though we made a few small mistakes, for example, in individual play. Today, for some reason, I think we just lacked energy.
On the team’s future
Of course, things will get better from here, since this was our first official match at a LAN tournament against strong teams. I’m happy for the guys—they showed a positive mindset and great energy. I’d even say I’m surprised by how well we performed, considering we didn’t prepare much.
Previously, Phantom Esports finished Stake Ranked Episode 3 in 5th–6th place, earning $9,000 in prize money. In their match on the third day of competition, the team lost in straight maps to K27—9–13 on Nuke and 6–13 on Ancient.
