Thour noted the FPS drop caused by smoke in CS2

Data miner Avi “Thour” Thour explained how much the volumetric smoke in Counter-Strike 2 affects the game’s performance. He wrote about this on his personal X account.
Volumetric smoke in Counter-Strike 2 is one of the main causes of FPS drops during gameplay.
...> While a smoke grenade is active, performance drops from approximately 900 to 650 FPS, and returns to its previous level once it dissipates.
Previously, Thour compared the performance of all maps in the current Counter-Strike 2 map pool and concluded that players can achieve the highest FPS on Mirage and Dust2, while the lowest FPS is observed on Ancient and Cache.
