Valve proposed adding a series of duels in the event of a tie in CS2’s Premier mode

The developers of Counter-Strike 2 published a post on the game’s official X page, where they discussed the possibility of adding a series of one-on-one duels to Premier mode in the event of a tie.
What do you think about teams moving to a series of duels when the score is 15-15 in Premier? The format for these duels could look like this.
- Players would face off against each other in 1-on-1 matches.
- Opponent pairings depend on final standings—team leaders, second-place players, and so on would compete separately.
- The order of the duels is determined randomly. For example, your best player might not face off until the final round.
- During the duel, the rest of the team watches their teammate’s performance.
- The team that wins 3 out of 5 duels first wins the match.
The post suggesting this was later deleted. It’s unclear whether this was a joke or if the developers are actually planning to update Premier mode in this way.
The most recent CS2 update was released on July 15—Valve added the latest versions of the Community Workshop maps Fachwerk, Boulder, Shelter, and El Dorado, and improved the game’s stability.
