xertioN on MOUZ: “The team is playing its best it has in the last seven months.”

MOUZ captain Dorian “xertioN” Berman.

MOUZ captain Dorian “xertioN” Berman, in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, discussed the impact the team’s coaching staff has had on him, explained how new players are adapting, and assessed the roster’s current form.

On the influence of Xyp9x and sycrone

My Counter-Strike philosophy, even before I became captain, was largely shaped by sycrone. Of course, Xyp9x helped me a lot after he joined, but I think he’s more focused on the micro aspects—on the finer details. But my overall understanding of Counter-Strike is largely tied to sycrone, because I’ve known him for a very long time. In fact, he’s the one who taught me how to play “proper Counter-Strike,” as I like to say. And I bring my own flexibility and quick thinking to the game. So I’d definitely say that sycrone has had the biggest influence on how I play and how I make decisions as captain.

On Integrating New Players

I’d say that ever since I became captain, I’ve always kept a very close eye on the game. If necessary, I first make sure everyone understands the strategy so that they can then add their own touch to the round. But at the same time, if I feel like that isn’t happening, I tell them myself what to do. That’s why it can be challenging with new players, because practically every one or two weeks I’ve had to spend—I don’t know—five or six hours with each player. That was the case with Brollan, with jL, now with PR, and, of course, with xelex when we signed him—to really help them understand our system. So I’ve put a lot of time into this.

It’s definitely not easy. I think it was even a little more difficult this time, because with PR, this was the third time I’ve had to explain the same things about the same positions—only to a different player. But, in my opinion, he’s adapting very well to our system. So I’d say that right now, I’m playing a little differently than, say, when we had Brollan or jL. But I think these changes are good for the team. It means that PR brings something to the table that previous players probably couldn’t.

On MOUZ’s Current Form

It’s still too early to say we have the perfect balance. But I think the team is playing its best right now in the last seven months. The start of 2026 was tough, which is why we decided to change the roster. We’re feeling really good right now. I like the atmosphere in the team right now. I think everyone is putting in a lot of time into the game, and it’s definitely starting to pay off. But, as you can see with other teams, there’s still a bit of a lack of cohesion early in the season. Team Vitality lost, and so did Team Falcons. Team Spirit, in fact, nearly lost to OG. FURIA lost yesterday. A lot is happening right now, and this was, in principle, to be expected. Of course, I didn’t think all these teams would start losing this early. But at the same time, you can never underestimate your opponents online. The players we’re facing right now play online almost constantly. That’s why we need to stay as focused as possible and understand that this is, after all, a slightly different game.
