FURIA’s CS2 rifler, Marek “YEKINDAR” Galinskis, commented on his team’s victory over G2 Esports in the match to advance to the semifinals of the Esports World Cup 2026 CS2 playoffs on his personal Telegram channel.
GG G2. It was actually a really tough game—not as easy as the score makes it seem. There were a lot of key rounds that allowed us to find our rhythm and just control the game. If I’m not mistaken, a 13-3 score across three games is certainly interesting—three maps. But overall, we’re very, very happy, of course, to be in the semifinals. Earlier, FURIA defeated G2 Esports in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2 with a 2-1 map score in a best-of-3 series. Mareks “YEKINDAR” Galinskis’s team will compete in the tournament’s semifinals tomorrow, August 22, at 5:00 p.m. Moscow time.
