Team Spirit CS2 rifler Miroslav “zont1x” Plakhotya spoke in an interview at BLAST Open Porto 2026 about his role on the team, explained his personal motivation in esports and the significance of trophies in his career, and shared his thoughts on the Intel Grand Slam award.
I try to help the team with any challenges: whether it’s game planning, communication, or calling plays during rounds, and I can also win clutch situations and firefights. I focus on the team’s main issue at the moment. If I notice communication issues, I start talking more, and if I see we’re falling behind in firepower, I focus on shooting. If the game plan causes misunderstandings between the players and the coach, I try to get everyone back on the same page. I do a little bit of everything across different aspects.
I want to grow as a person. I’m not motivated to win a certain number of tournaments or a specific Major—I don’t think that way. I want to win as much as possible without setting goals, so I don’t limit myself. The problem with a specific, clear goal is that once you achieve it, you can fall into a dopamine pit. Usually, after that, people just drift aimlessly for a few months or years, trying to figure out what they really want. I just want to see how far I can go in my career.
I don’t have a desire to win a Major or the Grand Slam specifically, even though it’s the only title I don’t have right now. It probably makes sense to be motivated to win it, but if we take home a BLAST event or the Katowice tournament but miss out on the Grand Slam, I’ll be fine. I just want to win without any specific goals, especially in Counter-Strike.
Team Spirit is currently facing off against G2 Esports in the upper bracket semifinals of the group stage at the BLAST Open Porto 2026. As of this writing, Miroslav “zont1x” Plakhoty’s team leads the series 1–0 in maps after winning on Dust2.
