Aurora Gaming coach Damien “kpii” Chok and the team’s support player Oleg “kaori” Medvedok discussed the team’s elimination from The International 2026 in a vlog on the team’s YouTube channel.
kaori: Well, I’m just a little disappointed. Overall, it’s fine. Yeah, I’m getting over it. I think, overall, we played well.
[What positive takeaways did you get from this The International?] Probably just that we played well at certain moments. We played aggressively, and a lot of things worked out for us.
kpii: There’s a void in my heart and mind. If I had a time machine... I’d go back three days. I’d change our drafts, our strategies—I’d change everything. It’s the end of the season, and we’ve come a very long way, starting with our first roster featuring TORONTOTOKYO and Oli. It really was a long journey, and there were successes along the way. Looking back, it’s sad that we didn’t succeed at the two biggest tournaments of the year, but we did have a couple of good performances. I’ll be happy if we make a comeback.
Aurora Gaming lost to BoomBoys (BetBoom Team) 0–2 in the group stage elimination round of The International 2026 and exited the tournament, finishing in 9th–13th place. As of this writing, the tournament’s prize pool stands at $3,169,499.
