Esports host Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner commented on the results of BLAST Slam VII in a YouTube video, recommended a map from the tournament to watch, and shared his thoughts on OG’s offlaner replacement.

On the BLAST Slam VII Grand Final

A 3-1 rout in the BLAST Grand Final by Yandex. Congrats to them. But the South American-Chinese players from LGD put on a great show, with some solid games under their belt. And TaiLung even broke the world record for damage dealt as Zeus in Dota 2 history. That’s pretty cool. LGD played so freely, without restrictions, that they didn’t even wear their jerseys during the tournament.

A map from the recent BLAST that’s worth watching

Game of the Week — Yandex vs. Aurora, first map. Lots of back-and-forth action, a great demonstration of base defense and offense. You saw a perfect Watson on Templar Assassin, who, as I can only assume, will become a signature hero for many moons to come.

On the return of OG’s all-Filipino roster

Haters, rejoice, but I’m still praying that someone else will step up in this game so we can highlight literally any region other than Europe and South America.

BLAST Slam VII took place from May 26 to June 7, with participants competing for a million dollars. LGD Gaming and Team Yandex faced off in the grand final, with the latter emerging victorious after four maps. The teams will next compete at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris
