Team Falcons support player Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu spoke in an interview at The International 2026 about the team’s preparations for the tournament and the current meta.
I think, overall, we had a pretty good bootcamp. We definitely improved a lot during bootcamp and probably should have performed even better. In the end, we lost to Liquid 0-3, although the score itself makes it seem like it was a one-sided match. But the first and third maps were pretty close, and we took a lot of valuable lessons from that and learned a great deal. So I think the bootcamp went well.
When a team has been performing well, it’s hard to accept that things are getting worse. I think people are more used to always moving upward. We’ve already achieved good results and know what we’re capable of, but we always strive to stay at that level. Because the moment you let your guard down and get complacent—your competitor will be right on your heels.
I wouldn’t say they’re specifically preparing for us or that all the attention is focused on us. Right now, I think more attention is being paid to PARIVISION and Team Yandex. The impact of recent results is particularly evident here: these two teams currently occupy the top two spots based on the results of the latest tournaments. So we’re staying in the shadows a bit, and that’s nice, because you never want to be under constant scrutiny.
I think everyone has simply come to better understand what used to work. The knowledge advantage—that edge some teams used to have—has gradually disappeared. All those advantages—whether it’s understanding the game a little better or coordinating with your team a bit more effectively—have practically vanished over the past few years. Nowadays, you can’t win just by being slightly better than your opponent in a single aspect. You have to be better than the other team in practically every aspect.
I don’t think the current meta suits us very well. Many of the signature heroes our players love to play aren’t particularly in demand in the meta right now. So it’s safe to say that the current meta doesn’t work in our favor. But we’ll still find a way to adapt and make it work for us.
Earlier, Team Falcons offlaner Ammar “ATF” al-Assaf commented on the team’s qualification for The International 2026 playoffs, noting their status as the tournament’s defending champions and their upcoming match against Nigma Galaxy.
