Team Spirit advanced to the BLAST SLAM VIII playoffs after defeating 1w Team
Team Spirit defeated 1w Team in the Group B winners’ match at BLAST SLAM VIII. The match ended with a score of 2-0.
On the first map, Team Spirit trailed slightly early on, but turned the game around after the 20-minute mark and secured the victory. The second map was dominated by the “Dragons”—36–9 in 22 minutes.
Team Spirit was the first to advance to the tournament’s playoffs. 1w Team will play in the group’s decisive match against the winner of the Team Nemesis vs. Natus Vincere match.
Earlier, Team Spirit coach Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev spoke about his coaching journey and the pressure he faced after winning The International 2026. He also highlighted his strengths: “My strengths have always been item builds and hero selection.”
