The IESF World Esports Championships 2027 will be held in Astana

The International Esports Federation (IESF) announced on X that Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, has been officially selected as the host city for the 2027 World Esports Championships.
IESF President Vlad Marinescu commented on the country’s selection to host the 2027 World Esports Championships:
“The WEC 2027 will be more than just a championship. It will be a global celebration of nations, athletes, and the future of esports.” For every player, there is no greater honor than competing under their country’s flag and officially representing their nation on the world stage. This is precisely what makes the World Esports Championships so powerful and unique.
In 2027, Astana will welcome the whole world and proudly become the capital of the esports world, uniting our federations, athletes, fans, and communities. Kazakhstan has demonstrated remarkable vision, ambition, and dedication, and we are confident that the World Esports Championships 2027 will deliver an unforgettable tournament and leave a lasting legacy for the entire global esports family.
Earlier, the organizers of the 2026 Esports World Cup announced that, for the first time in history, the tournament will be held not in Saudi Arabia, but in France. The venue will be the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition complex. A total of $75,000,000 in prize money will be up for grabs across 24 esports disciplines.
