1w Team (Iron Wing) support Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon spoke in an interview at The International 2026 about the victory over GamerLegion and said that the team isn’t feeling any pressure from competing in the year’s biggest tournament.
The first game was pretty calm. We picked all our heroes and just played. Maybe we just need a little more discipline, because we kind of threw away some games in the group stage.
We consistently played three maps, and we lost games we were leading in, but that wasn’t on purpose. It’s just that sometimes we get a little reckless—trying to rush places, not focusing on objectives, and so on.
I just like this hero. I think he’s broken. That’s all I can say.
[Question: “What’s the most important thing for playing Undying well?”]
It’s easy—you have to secure every objective from Tombstone.
The support meta seems a bit boring to me because everyone just spams the same heroes. I’d say that only PARIVISION uses standout heroes compared to other teams.
I don’t think we feel any pressure. We just play our game: sometimes we rush a bit and forget about discipline, but we’re working on it.
I suppose I feel grateful to be the sole representative from Southeast Asia at this TI. Yes, it’s nice.
At The International 2026, Whitemon played three maps as Undying; his current win rate on this hero is 100%. 1w Team advanced to the playoffs after defeating GamerLegion in the decisive match. On August 20 at 5 a.m. Moscow time, the team will face Team Spirit.
