Aurora Gaming offlaner Chang “Ws” Wei Shen spoke in an interview at The International 2026 about the team’s gameplay and shared tips on how to boost MMR.
On playing on an international team
It’s a really great experience. I like the atmosphere on this team. There are people from Europe here, and everyone has different cultures and all that.
On a player who exceeded expectations upon joining the team
I’d say Nightfall. As far as I remember, I used to think of him as a pretty toxic player. But after he joined this team, I realized things were completely different. He’s actually a good and kind person.
On the highlight of this season
Probably the rampage on Axe at BLAST. I don’t remember exactly which BLAST it was, but I think it was against Team Liquid. It’s really satisfying to just wipe out all five heroes and go on a rampage.
On a hero he doesn’t like to play but plays because of the meta
Right now, I’d say Necrophos and Underlord.
On how to boost your MMR
First, you need to communicate well with your team. Second, I don’t know—just ask your fourth-position support to pick strong heroes for the lane, and you’ll win your lanes every game. That’ll make your life a lot easier.
Aurora Gaming lost to BetBoom Team (BoomBoys) in a knockout match at The International 2026. The team finished in 9th–13th place and earned $55,393. The tournament’s playoffs will take place August 20–23 in Shanghai, China.
