you_K on the Indonesian national team at the Esports Nations Cup 2026: “It turns out Sundabule can’t make it because of his master’s program.”

Yukateo “you_K” Wijaya, coach of the Indonesian national team at the 2026 Esports Nations Cup, explained in an interview on the DTVI YouTube channel how he was invited to work with the national team.
On exhaustion
Since May 20, after everything was over, I’ve only had 3 days off.
On what he considers success in life
Getting married is what I need. That requires financial stability, and then emotional maturity. I need a place to live, I need a car. If I make it to the wedding, that means I’ve already achieved that.
On the offer to coach the Indonesian national team at ENC 2026
Even before ENC, I was offered the chance to coach the national team after IESF 2024. So this isn’t the first time. In 2025, after the second MARAPTHON, someone messaged me again: “Don’t you want to coach the team at IESF again? In your opinion, which players should we pick?” Although I wasn’t really into Dota at the time, I gathered some information and sent over a list of the best players. If I’m not mistaken, the initial choice was the guys from REKONIX.
I put together a list, but asked not to be made the coach because they already had their own—Sundabule. “Better take him. I can do it too, if needed. The main thing is to take the guys. It’s enough for me that we have representatives at the IESF.” They were hesitant because they weren’t very familiar with the Dota ecosystem—how competitive Indonesian players were, whether it made sense to sponsor them. I said it made sense, that there was a chance to win. So last year, the guys from REKONIX went. <...>
They called me and asked if I wanted to coach the team at ENC. I asked why they were considering me specifically, since I no longer follow Dota and am busy with other projects—why not take Sundabule? There are other options. They said the players had recommended me. ...> It turned out Sundabule couldn’t do it because of his master’s program. The players mentioned me as an interesting alternative. I didn’t agree right away; I said I’d give them an answer later. After thinking it over for two or three weeks, I still wasn’t sure; I needed to consult with my friends from MARAPTHON. <...> Few of them supported the idea.
But back in MARAPTHON’s second season, they asked me if I wanted to keep competing, and I replied that I’d consider it if I were invited to the national team and felt I could make the cut. After all, if I didn’t feel that way, it would be better to pass this opportunity on to other guys. And at the last IESF, I proved that I’m capable of it.
The 2026 Esports Nations Cup for Dota 2 will take place from November 2 to 8 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, with a prize pool of $1.864 million. The Indonesian team received an invitation based on its ranking, which was determined by the organizers.
