afro on Monte’s loss to Team Falcons at the IEM Cologne Major 2026: “I think we could have won that match”

Monte sniper Orelien “afro” Drapier spoke in an interview at IEM Cologne Major 2026 about his team’s loss to Team Falcons, as well as sharing his thoughts on the match against The MongolZ and 3DMAX’s current position in the global rankings.
On the loss to Team Falcons
I think we could have won that match. Our team gave it our all, but the Falcons played very well too. Their players have much more experience on the pro scene, so I’m not surprised by the final result. I’m glad we managed to put up a close fight. If we can consistently maintain this level of play, I think a spot in the Major playoffs won’t be long in coming.
On the match against The MongolZ
The MongolZ is a very strong team. They have few weaknesses. I think a lot in this match will depend on how we perform—how confidently we shoot, and so on. We’re in for an interesting game.
On 3DMAX
3DMAX was very close to qualifying for the Major. Right when the invites were being handed out, they hit a major slump. Maybe the team needs to make some changes—perhaps to their roster or their approach to the game. I hope 3DMAX gets back on track soon and secures a solid spot in at least the top 15 of the VRS.
Earlier, Monte lost to Team Falcons in a Round 3 match of the main stage at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 with a 1-2 map score. Right now, afro’s squad is battling The MongolZ for a spot in the 2-2 bracket.
