Esports player Anton “Anlelele” Hui has officially changed his esports nationality to Vietnamese on the industry portals HLTV and Liquipedia.
The change to the player’s passport information was necessary so that the Sashi Esport roster could secure a regional majority in Asia and qualify for an invitation to the PGL Major Singapore 2026.
This move sparked a lot of controversy and questions from the community, prompting the organization’s head, Klaus “D0KT0R3N” Nielsen, to issue an official statement. The head of the organization completely denied rumors that Anlelele holds dual citizenship, emphasizing that the esports player holds exclusively a Vietnamese passport. The club’s head added that the team had no intention of sitting idle for three months until the end of the season, so it took the opportunity to compete for a spot in the main tournament of the current competitive season.
The unusual situation involving the change of residence also caught the attention of the HLTV administration. Representatives of the portal reported that the editorial team had already requested a photo of Anlelele’s physical passport from him for internal verification. They confirmed D0KT0R3N’s statement that the rifler does not hold Danish citizenship, expressing surprise that the player himself had not previously commented on this fact and had been competing under the Danish flag without issue.
Earlier, CS2 esports players, commentators, and analysts reacted to the roster changes in Sashi Esport’s main squad, which will allow the team to switch to the VRS region and compete for an Asian invite to the PGL Singapore Major 2026.
