Magic rifler Andrei “AW” Anisimov reflected in an interview with OFFSTAGE on the victory over 3DMAX on Dust2 and the subsequent comeback on Ancient, and also assessed his team’s progress.
I think they didn’t expect us to be ready for their Dust2. They probably thought we’d be waiting for them to pick Cache. That’s all.
We just did a good job on the CT side, and on the T side they just *** [outplayed] us a little bit, but in the end we won the match.
I think a lot has changed. People have grown as individuals... But we’re still in the process of coming together as a team. What’s changed is that people have started to see the game much better. And I think we’ve started to develop more within the game itself.
Earlier, magic defeated 3DMAX in a main stage match at the Esports World Cup 2026 with a 2-0 map score (13-6 on Dust2 and 13-7 on Ancient). Today, the AW squad will face off against 9z Team for a spot in the tournament’s playoffs.
