BanKs on the map pool changes: “I’m sure they’ll never remove Mirage.”

Host James “BanKs” Banks, in a new episode of the All About Counter-Strike podcast series, discussed the upcoming changes to the competitive map pool, commented on Freddie “KRiMZ” Johansson’s move to EYEBALLERS, and shared his thoughts on Jason “JBOEN” Bo Nielsen joining FaZe Clan.
On the changes to the map pool
Overpass is gone. Personally, I liked Overpass; I thought it was a good fit for the map pool. But I guess it wasn’t picked that often. That said, I’m sure they’ll never remove Mirage. The only way that might happen is if they revamp Mirage and then release a visually updated version. I used to think they might remove Inferno, but guess what? Inferno was played a lot, so that didn’t happen. People still love Inferno, even with its flaws.
On KRiMZ’s move from Fnatic to EYEBALLERS
He left a project that was falling apart, having endured so many of Fnatic’s downfalls—none of which were his fault. It was poor management, bad decisions, and the wrong player selections. Meanwhile, we were making memes and joking about Fnatic over and over again. And he moved to another team. I’m a big fan of EYEBALLERS, by the way.
On JBOEN joining FaZe Clan
When it comes to JBOEN joining FaZe Clan, I see a lot of comments from people saying, “We’ve never even heard of this player.” They claim he’s not some kind of prodigy or the talent everyone’s been talking about. But here’s what I’ll say: this guy is good. He’s managed to hold his own at this level, and I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback about him. So, maybe his name isn’t that well-known, but he came up through Astralis Talent. Lately, a lot of teams have been looking to recruit players from major academies. Plus, this player’s name keeps popping up even when I’m not watching matches he’s in.
Earlier, Valve announced changes to the competitive map pool for Counter-Strike 2. The developers decided to remove Overpass, and it will now be replaced by Cache. This update will take effect with the start of the fifth season of Premier on July 6.
