biguzera: “We need to step it up.”

paiN Gaming captain Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt commented on the team’s losses to BIG and TYLOO in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 and discussed the team’s mistakes on Overpass.
On the losses to BIG and TYLOO
To be honest, I think the team was a little nervous at times. I think we made mistakes that you can’t make at a Major, and we were punished for it.
On working on mistakes
I think we learn something every day, in every match. But there are mistakes that simply shouldn’t happen. That’s why we need to step up our game.
On defensive issues against BIG on Overpass
We got a little confused on their defensive side when we were preparing our game plan. I think we were punished very heavily for certain things, like aggressive pushes, especially through the “connector.” Yeah, I think that was mostly it. But overall, it seems to me that if they had made similar mistakes, it would have been a good defensive side for us, because I didn’t feel like playing against their defense was very difficult. It seemed to me that I was reading the game well.
On being close to elimination from the tournament
As I said before, we had a very good bootcamp, and we just need to forget about yesterday.
Right now, paiN Gaming is in the 1-2 bracket of the second stage of the IEM Cologne Major 2026. Today, Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt’s team faces a do-or-die match against Astralis—the game starts at 3:00 PM Moscow time.
