Complexity Gaming founder Jason Lake announced on his personal X account that the organization was shutting down after 23 years of operation. According to him, the decision was made after assessing the company’s financial situation.
Lake noted that he decided to wind down Complexity’s operations in an organized and professional manner. His core team of employees left the organization with him, some of whom had worked with him for over 15 years. The founder thanked his former colleagues, investors, players, and fans for being part of the club’s history.
Complexity’s intellectual property rights were transferred back to GameSquare, as Lake still had obligations to the company following the acquisition of the organization. Lake himself and his former team are no longer affiliated with Complexity and hold no ownership stake or voting rights.
Lake also mentioned that in 2026, he took a creative sabbatical to rest and spend time with his family. However, he emphasized that he has no intention of ending his career and plans to launch a new project. The founder of Complexity added that he would like to continue working in esports and will look for opportunities to contribute to the industry.
Earlier, the Brazilian organization ODDIK announced that it was suspending its Counter-Strike 2 activities indefinitely. As a result of this decision, Gustavo “nardes” Henrique and Diogo “diozera” Nunes were moved to the bench, and the remaining players on the roster became free agents.
