FUT Esports coach András “coolio” Ferchak shared his thoughts on the Snake & Banter podcast about Natus Vincere’s current form, the atmosphere within the team, and possible roster changes before the end of 2026.
It seems to me that this is probably the toughest period in Natus Vincere’s history. I guess if I were talking about this in a friendly way, I’d put it differently, but it really saddens me to watch how this team is playing CS right now. Every time I tune in to their matches, it’s really hard for me to watch. It feels like the team is just dead. There were even rumors that Natus Vincere was trying to poach my players and all that, so it’s a pretty crazy situation. But they stayed on my team, so everything’s fine as far as I’m concerned. <...> Natus Vincere really is at rock bottom, and it’s awful. I think they realize it themselves, which is why I dared to bring this up. But yeah, it feels like the team has just fallen apart. I don’t see anyone enjoying playing there. When you watch Natus Vincere’s matches, it seems like all the players are walking around with downcast expressions, just waiting for the game to end. It’s as if they have neither trust in each other nor faith in the team. It seems to me they just want to finish the season and make some changes or something like that. But it all looks bad.
They lost to PARIVISION, even though, to be honest, they should have won that match. They shouldn’t have lost it that way. That’s crazy, too. Just think back to that round at 11-11, when the NAVI players went for a late retake and defused the bomb at the very last second. It was a 3-on-3 situation, and, honestly, there was no way they should have lost it. But after you lose a round like that and then squander your chance in a similar way, everything gets even worse. And if they go back to training after this ahead of the tournament in Bucharest, I don’t think the atmosphere on the team will be good. It simply can’t be any other way. Things are so complicated that it will be very hard to get out of this situation. I expect NAVI to make changes before the end of the year. That’s my prediction. I think that’s exactly what they need to fix the situation within the team, because the atmosphere doesn’t look good. I don’t think the players even enjoy playing with each other anymore.
I don’t think there’s a single consistent player on NAVI. Every time, it’s a different player who performs poorly. And it seems to me that there isn’t a single player on the team who’s confident in himself. Besides, it seems to me that this year, NAVI has had a very hard time winning even on their own picks. At least, that’s the impression I’ve gotten. Even at the beginning of the year, in the first season, when they were winning and playing much better, NAVI, in my opinion, still somehow consistently lost their own maps, but won their opponents’ maps, and then took the decisive map. But yes, it’s very hard for me to say anything negative about any of the players because I’m on very good, friendly terms with all of them. That said, I’m not involved in what’s going on inside the team, so I don’t have any insider information.
Earlier on the Snake & Banter podcast, FUT Esports coach András “coolio” Ferchak, analyst Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, and journalist Duncan “Thorin” Shields discussed Valve’s new restriction and the move of Sashi Esports and BC.Game Esports to the Asian VRS region.
