100 Thieves sniper Nikolai “device” Reidtz, in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, commented on team captain Jack “Gizmy” von Sprekelsen’s attitude toward Astralis, compared him to other captains he’s played with, and assessed his leadership qualities.
On Gizmy’s criticism of Astralis
It’s good that he at least admits it, but to be fair, it’s been a long time since Astralis’s heyday, so it doesn’t really bother me.
On whether it’s difficult to play with Gizmy after all this
Definitely not. He actually gives good instructions, and of course, he’s the boss now, so I just follow his vision.
On comparing Gizmy to other captains
I’d say Jack is already among the best captains I’ve ever played with—that’s for sure. I think he understands the current meta very well; he’s a very smart player, and he plays in his native language, which really helps him give instructions quickly. And that’s something that, in my opinion, has always been a bit more challenging in the international teams I’ve played on. But yes, he’s also a very good player, and that’s important in the current meta, where you can’t just let yourself get outplayed because you have one player who can’t adapt to the game as well. So yeah, I don’t have anything bad to say about him so far—who knows what’ll happen next.
Right now, Nikolai “device” Ridtz’s team is facing off against Team Spirit in the online stage of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2. The winning team will secure a spot in the tournament’s LAN stage, while the losing team will be eliminated from the championship.
