djL on working with Gentle Mates: “Coaching this team is a real pleasure.”
Gentle Mates coach Daniel “djL” Narančić spoke in an interview on Stake Ranked Episode 3 about his work with the new team and preparing the roster for this tournament, and also shared his thoughts on stand-in Joey “CRUC1AL” Stoysele.
On working at Gentle Mates
I’m not sure how much I can say about this… Let’s just say I’ve been working with the guys for about a month and a half now. Coaching this team is a real pleasure.
On the team’s new system
Right now, alex and I are working together to build Gentle Mates’ gameplay structure. This system combines ideas from all of us. Of course, it’ll take some time for everything to click.
On Preparing for Stake Ranked Episode 3
Due to Martinez’s departure to HEROIC, we had to urgently find a replacement, which significantly impacted our training process. Given the circumstances, we did everything we could, and I feel like we’re well-prepared for this tournament.
On CRUC1AL
CRUC1AL is an amazing player. He’s managed to adapt perfectly to our system. We’ve had a few joint training sessions, and so far, everything is going great.
Yesterday, Gentle Mates defeated Wildcard 2-0 in maps as part of Stake Ranked Episode 3. Thanks to this victory, the team advanced to the upper bracket semifinals of the tournament. Today, djL’s team will face Ninjas in Pyjamas.
