enkay J on FaZe Clan’s struggles: “The players aren’t very confident.”
FaZe Clan coach Niklas “enkay J” Krumhorn, in an interview on Stake Ranked Episode 4, listed the main issues the team has been facing recently and explained how the coaching staff plans to address them.
On the team’s challenges
The players aren’t very confident and, unfortunately, aren’t taking the initiative. This makes things very difficult for Twistzz: the players aren’t taking up space and aren’t communicating well enough with each other. They’re only conveying about 75% of the information needed during a match.
On the necessary changes
When I joined the team in April, the problems were very similar: due to the situation at the time, the players were generally demoralized. Now, the responsibility for fixing everything lies with me and the coaching staff. We need the players to regain their motivation and positive attitude. We’ll be reviewing our strategies and figuring out what we can change for the upcoming tournaments.
Earlier, Astralis defeated FaZe Clan 2-1 in the lower bracket of Stake Ranked Episode 4. The Danish team won on Ancient (13–11) and Cache (13–9), but lost on Nuke (11–13). As a result, Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen’s team advanced in the tournament, while FaZe Clan was eliminated.
