ESL has announced a CS2 tournament in Brazil for 2027

Tournament operator ESL has announced the return of the Intel Extreme Masters series to Brazil. The Counter-Strike 2 championship will take place from May 3 to 9, 2027, with a total prize pool of $1,000,000 for teams and players. The announcement was published on the official ESL website.
Sixteen teams will participate in the tournament. Eleven teams will receive invitations based on the global VRS ranking, while one slot each will go to the top teams from North and South America according to their respective regional VRS rankings. The remaining three spots will be decided through two global closed qualifiers and a closed qualifier for the Americas.
Group stage matches will be played in a double-elimination format with two groups of eight teams each. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, which will take place in a live arena.
The tournament’s prize pool will be $1,000,000 and will be distributed as follows:
- 1st place — $120,000;
- 2nd place — $50,000;
- 3rd place — $30,000;
- 4th place — $20,000;
- 5th–8th place — $10,000 each;
- 9th–12th place — $6,000 each;
- 13th–16th place — $4,000 each.
Earlier, tournament operator ESL announced that it had added Cache to the official map pool for its championships. The first tournament where teams will be able to play on the updated map will be ESL Challenger League Season 52.
