The FACEIT tournament platform announced on social media platform X its decision to keep the general voice chat between teams during side swaps until the end of Season 9. Platform representatives also published a console command that allows users to completely disable this feature.
The platform’s administration has extended the in-game option, which was originally tested for a limited time. The ability to communicate with opponents during a match will remain active in all major game modes until the official end of the current competitive cycle.
For users who prefer to opt out of the general voice chat during the side swap, the developers have provided a special setting. You can mute the enemy team directly via the console. To do this, players need to set cl_mute_enemy_team to 1.
Season 9 on the FACEIT platform kicked off in early August 2026 and introduced a major overhaul of the ranking system, a revamped in-game HUD, and new league series for professional and semi-professional teams. The general voice chat feature available mid-match during side swaps received positive feedback from the community, prompting the organizers to decide to keep it in place until the end of the current competitive season.
