FL4MUS: “During the match against Team Spirit, we just weren’t ourselves—that’s all.”

BetBoom Team CS2 rifler Timur “FL4MUS” Mariev, in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026, shared his thoughts on GamerLegion’s performance at IEM Atlanta 2026, discussed the reasons behind their loss to Team Spirit, and explained what makes him nervous during matches.
On GamerLegion
I think GamerLegion performed very well at the tournament in Atlanta—I was surprised. They managed to beat Legacy, who, in turn, had defeated NAVI. Of course, if you look at the bracket, the German club can’t boast of victories over top-tier opponents, unlike Legacy, for example. Despite this, their overall performance was very impressive: a silver medal and a solid match against Natus Vincere, especially on Ancient. Of course, the overall level of the teams at the event in the US wasn’t that high, but second place is still a respectable result.
About Team Spirit
During the match against Team Spirit, we just weren’t ourselves—that’s all. Most likely, that was the main reason for our defeat. The problem was mental: we didn’t communicate effectively on the server and performed very poorly. Personally, I felt like my hand was made of wood—I couldn’t land a single accurate shot. Maybe it’s because we’re from the same region; I’m not sure. We only have ourselves to blame for putting so much pressure on ourselves in the match against this team; it’s not their doing.
On nerves during the game
Actually, I only get really nervous in those moments when I’ve already been killed in a round: I have to watch my teammates’ actions and worry. When I’m playing myself, I might get a little jittery, but that’s driven entirely by positive emotions and the anticipation of victory.
