G2 advanced to Stage 3 of the IEM Cologne Major, while M80 was eliminated from the tournament

G2 Esports won their match in the second stage of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 and advanced to the third stage of the tournament, while M80 exited the event.
Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač’s team faced off against BIG. On the first map, Inferno, the German squad lost 3-13, and on Mirage, they lost 8-13.
In a parallel match, Legacy faced off against M80. The Brazilian squad took the lead on Dust2 and closed it out 13-8, and on Inferno, they won in overtime with a score of 16-13.
Thus, G2 Esports advanced to the main stage of the IEM Cologne Major 2026. BIG and Legacy were relegated to the lower bracket with a 2-2 record, while M80 was eliminated from the tournament.
Stage 2 of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 began on June 6 and will conclude tomorrow, June 9, in Cologne. Overall, the tournament consists of four stages: Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, and the playoffs. Thirty-two teams are competing for a prize pool of $1.25 million.
