huNter- on the upcoming FISSURE PLAYGROUND 3 — CS final: “This is our third tournament in a row; we’re worn out and tired.”
G2 Esports captain Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač, in an interview at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 3 — CS, commented on the team’s advancement to the grand final, spoke about the comeback against Anubis, and assessed the upcoming match against Legacy.
On the match against BetBoom Team
I feel really good. I was pleasantly surprised, and I knew we could pull off a comeback. We’ve shown that many times—even in this tournament, we’ve come back from a 1-2 deficit so many times. So I’m very happy and looking forward to the final.
On the comeback against Anubis
The communication was crazy because there were a lot of insane rounds that both they and we played out, since neither side had enough money. But I think we handled it well—despite the crazy moments, we tried to stay calm the whole time. And for me, that’s the most important thing, which is why we closed out the map in the end.
On the final against Legacy
Legacy is a great team—they’ve proven it many times, especially here in China, where they’ve won a lot of tournaments—so it won’t be easy, especially in a best-of-5 format. But I’m glad we’re in the final. This is our third tournament in a row—we’re worn out and tired, but that’s no excuse. And I can promise that tomorrow we’ll give it our all, no matter what, and I hope it’ll be a good match.
Earlier, G2 Esports defeated BetBoom Team 2–1 in the semifinals of FISSURE PLAYGROUND 3 — CS. As a result, Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač’s team has advanced to the championship grand final, where they will face the Brazilian team Legacy tomorrow.
