Karim “Krimbo” Moussa, shared his thoughts in an interview at 1win Private Club #1 following his team’s victory at the event. He discussed the team’s first bootcamp and their plans to secure a slot for the upcoming Major.
It’s great to be back—thank you so much for the congratulations. Last week, we played our first LAN event with NiP in Warsaw. It was tough because we only had a couple of days to prepare, but since then we’ve been able to train properly at boot camp. It’s really cool to start our journey with a new team by winning here in Belgrade.
During the tournament, I was once again convinced that I have an awesome group of guys on my team. We finally had our first official week of boot camp, and that’s really great. We need to keep up the momentum and get to know each other better and better. I can give the example of Mirage, where we won a lot of tough situations and clutch plays. The better you know your teammates, the more confidently you can understand how they’d like to play in those kinds of moments. I think that’s the main thing I’ve learned during this championship alongside the guys.
The goal of any team is always to qualify for a Major. If we’re not talking about the upcoming one in Singapore, then we’re already looking ahead to the next one. That’s exactly why we’re here, competing under pressure and fighting for trophies. For me, of course, it’s very important that we started our journey exactly this way—with a decisive victory. Now we need to keep up the momentum, work hard, learn from our mistakes, and—just as importantly—stay humble, because we’re at the top right now, but things could be completely different at the next event.
Yesterday, Ninjas in Pyjamas defeated GamerLegion in the grand final of 1win Private Club #1 with a score of 3–1 in a best-of-5 series. Karim “Krimbo” Mussa’s team took first place in the championship and earned a total of $25,000 in prize money.
