SirActionSlacks on JerAx: “It’s like this guy could see the future.”

I haven’t talked about this publicly, but one of my favorite players was JerAx. Without a doubt, he’s the greatest Dota player of all time. I respect the players enough not to reveal exactly who said what. I’ll try to keep it general so no one has any complaints. But when OG—that old roster—was playing, those guys were just crazy beasts. They were literally yelling and screaming the whole time. <…>

They’d literally shout out random nonsense to cheer each other on. It was cool. But two people on that team hardly said a word. ana was silent the whole time. Well, that’s fine—every team needs someone like that.

But when JerAx did say something… Man, it was like this guy could see the future. As soon as he uttered a single phrase, the whole team would fall silent and do exactly what he said. He barely spoke more than a couple of times per game. He’d just say, “Let’s go top.” No explanations. No discussions. Just: “Now we’re going top. He’ll lead us.” And it worked every single time. He never made a mistake. It was insane.

And I’m really sorry we weren’t able to tell that story. But there was so much more… There were so many stories we couldn’t show: how much the players on those teams loved each other, how much the staff meant to them, and what a huge role the managers and everyone else played. We just didn’t have enough time. There wasn’t enough time to tell it all. And at the same time, we had to include everything in the film in a way that would make it something truly iconic.
