kuben spoke after FOKUS’s victory over Aurora Gaming at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026

FOKUS coach Jakub “kuben” Gurchinski shared his thoughts in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 following the victory over Aurora Gaming, explained the reasons behind their rout of their opponents on Dust2, and discussed the ability to communicate constantly with his players during matches in the tournament’s online stage.
On the victory over Aurora Gaming
I’m glad we won. This season, our team has played only two official matches, and in almost every map, we lost 0-5. I always call a timeout when that happens, and then we start to make a comeback. Usually, we make a lot of hesitant plays at the beginning.
On the rout on Dust2
Before Dust2 started, I simply said, “Let’s play the way we usually do in practice. We need to put pressure on them from the very first round. We can’t let up.” I think our aggressive plan worked really well.
On constant communication with players during online matches
To be honest, I like to talk a lot. That has its pros and cons. I think a lot of people aren’t used to having six voices during practice. However, during official matches, it’s always helpful to have a broader perspective on what’s happening and let the players focus on their shooting.
FOKUS defeated Aurora Gaming in their debut match at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 with a 2-1 map score. In their next match, kuben’s team will compete for a spot in the LAN stage of the championship, which will take place in Malta.
