9z Team riflers Luciano “luchov” Herrera and Ignacio “meyern” Meyer commented on their advancement to the semifinals in an interview at the XSE Pro League 2026, discussed how the team managed to stage a comeback against TYLOO, and explained what allowed 9z to dominate on Inferno.

On their first victory in the quarterfinals

luchov: I feel great. This is a very important moment for our team. I think we’ve finally overcome this hurdle.

meyern: I feel the same way. It wasn’t perfect, but I think we got off to a very good start on Inferno. After the first half, we discussed a few things, and I think it worked out really well.

On the victory on Inferno

luchov: We agreed not to go for early kills, but to play the rounds in a 5v5 format. We slowly took control of the map and tried to execute plays together. I think that was the key to our success, because we managed to pull off a lot of good rounds. For example, in the last round, it was 4v4, and we were able to win it. I think that was the key factor for us.

On future goals for the tournament

meyern: We played really well today. If we want to win the tournament, we’ll have to play even better in the next match. But I think we’re making progress.
