magixx on the match against 100 Thieves at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026: “Our communication was poor again.”

Team Spirit captain Boris “magixx” Vorobyov spoke in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 about the challenges they faced in the match against 100 Thieves and assessed the team’s chances of winning the tournament.

On 100 Thieves’ style

Their playstyle is very different from what they had with rain. Gizmy has definitely brought a lot of ideas and a variety of different plays they can execute. That’s why it’s sometimes tough to play against them.

On the match against 100 Thieves

First off, I want to say that our communication was poor again. It was pretty similar to what happened in our match against OG. The first map felt, in my opinion, somewhat inconsistent. On the second map, everything came down to our energy level and how well we communicated with each other. When players executed a pre-planned play or, for example, got caught in a clutch, communication between the two surviving players was weak. We didn’t have many ideas. And that Mirage match was a wake-up call for us, as if it had jolted us back to life. Before Dust2, I think we were already communicating much better with each other. There were several truly impressive moments: clutch plays, various situations where players left alone or outnumbered managed to pull off round wins. It was truly impressive.

On underdog victories at the tournament

It seems to me that when you play in Tier 1 tournaments, everyone plays pretty much the same Counter-Strike. And you get used to that. But teams from the top 40, top 30, or even lower in the rankings bring their own fresh ideas to the table. And if you’re not prepared for that… Imagine you’re expecting one specific scenario, but they completely outplay you with a completely different one.

On the tournament favorites

If the question is whether we’ll win or lose, it all basically depends on us: how we play, how we perform, and how we communicate. Because, again, this is the late stage of the tournament. And it’s pretty hard to maintain a high energy level. Imagine this: you’re used to playing practice matches, say, starting at 11 a.m., playing a few games, and then not practicing in the evening. Even if you’re playing Deathmatch—it’s still not a 5v5 format. Even if you’re playing on FACEIT, you’re playing with and against people who don’t use keyboards. And that’s a huge difference.

Earlier, Team Spirit defeated 100 Thieves 2-0 in maps during the online stage of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2. As a result, Boris “magixx” Vorobyov’s team secured a spot in the LAN stage of the tournament, which will take place in Malta.
