MATYS on Aurora Gaming’s revamped CS2 roster: “It’s a completely different team.”
G2 Esports rifler Matusz “MATYS” Szymko, in an interview at BLAST Open Porto 2026 for CS2, commented on the upcoming match against Aurora Gaming and assessed their opponent’s revamped roster.
“It feels completely different. Obviously, in the past—even with me on the roster—we didn’t have much success in matches against Aurora Gaming. But now it feels completely different. It seems like this is the same Aurora Gaming, right? And they have a few veteran players on their roster, like XANTARES and woxic. But I think it’s a completely different team. A completely different team structure. I’m referring, of course, to kyxsan joining the team. So, I think everything will be completely different. Obviously, we’ll approach this game the same way we always have. Even if it’s an all-Turkish team. Honestly, it doesn’t really matter that much. But yes, I think the vibe is definitely a little different. Especially with Jimpphat joining,” said Matusz “MATYS” Szimko, rifler for G2 Esports.

Right now, Matusz “MATYS” Shimko’s team is facing off against Aurora Gaming in their debut match at BLAST Open Porto 2026. The winning team will advance to the upper bracket semifinals of Group A, while the loser will drop to the lower bracket.
