Pimp: “Right now, FaZe and Liquid are in a similar situation. Their main goal is to get back to where they used to be.”

Analyst Jacob “Pimp” Winneke posted on his personal X page, where he reflected on the current status of FaZe Clan and Team Liquid on the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene.

Right now, FaZe and Liquid are in a similar situation. Their main goal is to get back to where they used to be.

Once the teams regain their prominence, they’ll be able to attract the talent needed for consistent Tier 1-level performances. Their recent slump has put both organizations in a position where signing star players or highly promising prospects has become an impossible task. At the moment, there’s virtually no reason for talented players to join these teams.

Both teams got off to a great start after the summer break. Believe me, it’s more important than ever that they keep up the momentum. The current FaZe and Liquid rosters are unlikely to achieve major success. However, if they can attract promising players with their performances, they’ll take the first step toward returning to the top.

Recently, FaZe Clan defeated DENDELE, and Team Liquid beat G2 Esports in the second-round matches of the online stage of BLAST Bounty Summer 2026. Both teams have advanced to the LAN stage of the tournament, which will take place from July 30 to August 2 in Malta.
