sAw: “The longer the tournament goes on, the harder it is to stay consistent”

G2 Esports coach Eetu “sAw” Sahka commented on the loss to Aurora Gaming, assessed the team’s inconsistency, and spoke about Natus Vincere’s current form in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
On the loss to Aurora Gaming
They were simply better that day. We didn’t show up on the server the way we wanted to—not in terms of energy, not in terms of communication, just the basics. And they played well in CS and won 2-0. We essentially had no footing in the match at any point, so it was a tough day.
On dealing with the team’s inconsistency
In the end, it’s all about consistency. You have to constantly push the team, understand what approach is needed on different days. It’s about motivation, about pressure, about making sure we do the right things on the server and stay focused. The longer the tournament goes on, the harder it is to stay consistent, but we have to find that level and push toward consistency.
About Natus Vincere
They play good team-oriented CS. They’ve been in good form lately. It hasn’t necessarily shown up to its fullest here at the tournament, but they’ll always be a dangerous team thanks to the basics, the foundation they have. And their map pool. They have a solid foundation and good individual players, though not as many stars as some other teams.
Earlier, G2 Esports defeated Natus Vincere 2-1 and finished the third stage of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 with a 3-2 record. The team has advanced to the tournament’s playoffs and will continue competing for the championship.
