MOUZ coach Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen shared his thoughts in an interview at BLAST Open Porto 2026 following the victory over IC Esports, assessed his team’s current roster, and discussed the “Mice’s” gameplay.
On the victory over IC Esports
Today we dominated IC Esports. It’s great when your players perform at such a high level. As a top team, we often manage to win matches, but such a lopsided victory is a good and important result. I’m glad we made it to the playoffs.
On the MOUZ Roster
We always try to play as a unified whole—that’s exactly why our team doesn’t seem weak right now. As for the players, torzsi is in excellent form and has recovered mentally, while Spinx is performing at a consistently high level. The team has developed a hunger for victory thanks to the arrival of xelex and PR. The newcomers may still be inexperienced, but we’re constantly working with them and helping them grow.
About the team’s play
If we look back at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, we nearly lost to 3DMAX in the playoffs and defeated Astralis in a close match. The same thing happened at the Esports World Cup 2026, where many teams punished us for our weak preparation on Ancient. Our play is far from perfect. We’re still in the process of finding our footing and will continue to refine our structure as this season progresses.
MOUZ defeated IC Esports 2-0 in a group stage match at the BLAST Open Porto 2026 and advanced to the tournament’s playoffs. On August 31, the “Mice” will face the winner of the Legacy/Team Falcons match for a spot in the semifinals.
