Team Falcons rifler René “TeSeS” Madsen spoke in an interview at the 2026 Thunderpick World Championship following their victory over 9z Team, discussed his team’s challenges on the Mirage map, and assessed the “Falcons’” chances of winning the trophy.
In this match, I did everything I could to help the team. We played great, and karrigan was on fire, especially on Nuke and Dust2. I’m happy with the win.
To be honest, 9z played exceptionally well on Mirage. At the same time, we had trouble executing our calls on the attack. I think we should have pulled off a comeback on defense, but we made a few serious mistakes and lost some key rounds. Probably the main problem was our map movement. We didn’t quite understand which areas were open, where we needed to go, and so on. 9z simply took advantage of our weaknesses.
I think we’re the favorites in this tournament, given our ranking and recent results. Of course, our team has struggled in the playoffs in the past, but things are getting better now. It’s important for us to keep up the momentum and prove our status on the server.
Team Falcons defeated 9z Team in a group stage match at the 2026 Thunderpick World Championship with a score of 2:1 (13:9 on Nuke, 8:13 on Mirage, and 13:9 on Dust2). Thanks to this victory, the “Falcons” advanced to the tournament’s playoffs.
