Dota 2 Update from July 28, 2026: Fixed a bug where Meepo could create copies of Sange and Yasha

On the evening of July 28, the Dota 2 developers released a technical update that fixed a bug causing Meepo to duplicate Sange and Yasha, updated localization for several dozen languages, and updated the client and server components for all operating systems.

- Fixed a bug that allowed Meepo to create a large number of copies of Sange and Yasha under a specific sequence of actions involving the inventory, the courier, and the hero’s death.
- Changes have been made to the localization files for many languages, including Russian.
- Updated the game’s VPK archives containing Dota 2 resources.
- Changes have been made to the game client and server files for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- The resource information file for the Steam Workshop tools has been updated.
The update size is 120.8 MB.
Earlier, Dota dataminer Stepan published the final cutscene from the first act of “The Dark Carnival,” which showed five silhouettes of presumed automaton characters—likely Tidehunter, Pugna, Lich, Lifestealer, and Sven.
