On the night of June 30, the Dota 2 developers released a minor update focused on fixing a vulnerability in the “Castle Break-In,” adding new ability icons for the Morphling automaton, and updating the client and server components for all operating systems.

List of Changes

  • Changes have been made to the configuration files for the “Dark Carnival” in-game event.
    • Added ability icons for Morph and Replicate—upgraded by Aghanim’s Scepter—for Morphling’s Automaton form.
    • Fixed a bug where artificially lowering the frame rate via the console made the “Lock Picking” minigame easier to complete.
    • Fixed a bug that prevented event tickets from being awarded for matches in Normal mode against bots.
  • Updated the game’s VPK archives containing Dota 2 resources.
  • Updated signature service files and Steam Workshop tools.
  • Changes have been made to the game client and server files for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The update size was 54.3 MB.

Earlier, Team Spirit analyst Mark “sikle” Lerman reported that the next mini-games in the “Dark Carnival” in-game event will likely be dedicated to Pudge and Hoodwink. He reached this conclusion after analyzing the game files.
