Nix on Satanic: “He’s just a perfect carry machine, but he’s not a leader—he’ll never lead people.”
During a Twitch stream, streamer Alexander “Nix” Levin answered a question about why Danil “gpk” Skutin’s team is struggling at the BETBOOM Streamers Battle Dota 15. Nix believes that gpk, like Alan “Satanic” Galliamov, is strong as a performer but not as a leader capable of guiding a team.
[Question: Why do you think gpk hasn’t been able to win a single game at the Streamers Battle?] Because gpk is just a player, just like Satanic. I’ve said this a million times. There are just cogs with great micro, but in reality, the strategists always bring in way more profit, yet they stay in the shadows. That’s all.
On Streamers Battle, what matters much more is how you draft, pick your spots, and coordinate your teammates. And that’s a level of strategic thinking that most players simply don’t possess. Take Satanic—he’s the perfect carry, but he’s not a leader; he’ll never lead a team, he doesn’t know how to draft, and he doesn’t understand the basics. In other words, he’s not a commander—he’s just the perfect warrior.
Take gpk, for example—he’ll come in and win mid. But that doesn’t mean he understands Dota on such a strategic level that he’ll sit down to draft, prepare for the matchups, ban their heroes perfectly, set a couple of traps, draft perfectly for his own teammates, and on top of that, sit with them for 3–4 hours explaining what they did wrong in terms of macro. He’ll just do his 20%, and that’s it. And that’s not enough for players like that.
The gpk team, which also features Gleb “kiyotaka” Zyryanov, lost three out of three matches in the BETBOOM Streamers Battle Dota 15. Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov played for Stariy Bog Club at the WINLINE Star Series Season 4 and took second place, losing in the final to Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin’s team.
